Prom season is here, and while it’s a time for celebration, it’s also a time to make smart, safe choices. This morning, our friends at Jasper County Fire-Rescue hosted their annual Prom Promise event to help prepare students for a safe night to remember.

The event featured a mock DUI crash scenario, giving students a powerful, firsthand look at the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving. We want to thank all the agencies who participated and helped bring this important message to life, and a special thank you to the students who bravely volunteered to take part in the reenactment.

Parents, please take a moment to talk with your teens about the dangers of drinking and driving. These conversations matter and could save lives.
